Self-Hire Service

 

1. To confirm a booking, and reserve your date, a deposit of 25% of the total invoice is required. If confirming with less than once month to go, full payment is required at the time. Likewise, for bookings of less than 15 chairs, full payment is required upfront to confirm. None of these payments are refundable.

2. Any remaining balance is due one calendar month before the date of the reservation. Failure to pay this instalment on time may result in the cancellation of the booking in line with our cancellation policy (below) and loss of the deposit.

3. Cancellations / failure to pay by the client: If a confirmed booking is cancelled by the client 90 days before the event, then 50% of the remaining balance must be paid. If the client cancels within 60 days of the event the full remaining balance must be paid. If the client fails to pay the balance within the timescale indicated in clause 2, this will be classed as breach of contract, the booking will be cancelled by The Sophisticated Touch, and the debt will be passed to an external agency, or legal action will be taken to recover funds. The deposit is non-refundable in any situation.

4. It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that our chair covers (and additional accessories) are the correct size to fit the chairs at the venue.

5. Hirers should ensure we are provided with a swatch of your chosen colour scheme as quickly as possible after confirming a booking. Failure to provide this within at least one month of your reserved date may result in us not being able to source a sufficient match.

6. Covers / sashes (as appropriate) will be sent out by courier in the days leading up to your event (usually between one and two working days in advance). We cannot be held responsible if the courier fails to deliver at the specified time. Any problems with the courier service must be taken up with them as a separate matter.

7. It is the responsibility of the hirer to arrange return of these covers. They must arrive back to us no later than the Wednesday following the date of hire (for weekend bookings), or three working days after the date of hire (for weekday bookings). For each day they are late, for a period of seven days, you will be charged £1.00 per cover and 50p per sash. After this initial seven-day period, you will be charged the full cost of the original hire. A process to recover these funds (and our property) will be put in place.

8. Hired goods remain the property of The Sophisticated Touch at all times. The hirer is entirely responsible for any loss or damage to the goods from the moment they take delivery of the items, until we receive them back.

9. For all bookings, a security deposit of £450.00 is required as protection against permanent damage to our property, or its total loss. This should be sent to us a few days before the covers are due to be sent out. The deposit will be returned, or destroyed when covers and accessories have been collected and inspected, which is usually in the week following hire. Soiling which can be removed through cleaning is acceptable, although permanent damage (certain stains, tears, or burns to the linen) is charged for at £10.00 per chair cover, and £2.50 per sash / accessory. This will be deducted from the security deposit.

10. Our courier is fully insured. Once we have handed hired property to the courier, we are not responsible if the courier fails to deliver on time / there is nobody to receive the delivery. Goods will always be sent out in good time.

11. In the case of cancellation by ourselves (for whatever reason), we are only liable to refund the total paid by the client at the time. If the cancellation is in excess of one calendar month before the date, only the deposit will be refunded. If the cancellation is within one calendar month, we will refund the balance, as long as it has been paid. We are not, in any circumstance, liable for any other costs that the client, or any other party may incur as a result of our cancellation.

12. The Sophisticated Touch is run by Kirsty and Andrew Chesterman. They are the sole owners (unless otherwise stated) of all property hired out under this trading name.
